Policy Wins & Milestones

Led the development of Zimbabwe’s Decriminalisation Strategy of Sex Work, launched in 2022 and presented to parliamentarians as a step towards protecting rights and dignity.

Submission to the UN CEDAW Committee (75th Session): In Geneva, ZIMSWA presented a shadow report highlighting state-led human rights violations against women sex workers in Zimbabwe.

In November 2020, ZIMSWA convened national platforms that drafted and validated the Decriminalisation Strategy, followed by sensitisation workshops to equip sex workers with knowledge and skills for engaging policymakers and advocating effectively.
